TN2312AP Firmware Vintage 4 is highly recommended for all TN2312AP equipped 
systems.

This version of firmware is only applicable for TN2312AP hardware vintage 1
and vintage 2.

Firmware Vintage 4 addresses the following issues:

Nortel DMS PRI links could drop during a TN2312AP warm reset. This drops all 
active calls on the DS1 span(s) controlled by the dropped D-channel.

Prevents a possible clock error reported by "A"-TN2312AP boards when 
interchanging from the "B" to "A" TN2312AP. 

Both prevents a possible port network cold reset when a TN2312AP board is 
activated and also shortens the time it takes to reset the board.

The TN2312AP only supports firmware download from a S8700 Media Server
over a TCP/IP connection.

Required: 
    S8700 Media Server
    TN2312AP circuit pack with TCP/IP connection to Server.
    Browser Access to the Customer Support Web site (http://support.avaya.com),
    The file containing the TN2312AP firmware should be copied to the 
    /var/home/ftp directory on the S8700 Server.

If you are already at the Definity / MultiVantage Firmware download site, 
please skip to step 4.

Step 1. direct your browser to <http://support.avaya.com>.  Find and click on
"Software & Firmware Downloads".

Step 2. Under the heading "Enterprise Class IP Solutions (ECLIPS)", find and 
click on "S8700 Media Server".

Step 3. Under the heading "Get Information", find and click on "Firmware 
Downloads".

Step 4. In the table "Firmware Downloads", find and click on "TN2312AP 
Firmware Downloads".

Step 5. This is the TN2312AP firmware download page.  Download the file
tn2312ap_f4.bin and place it on the S8700 Media Server in the /var/home/ftp 
directory on the S8700 Server..

Step 6.  Use the Web Page on the S8700 Media Server to download the IPSIs
and monitor the download status.

Firmware Vintage 4 is the third official firmare release for the TN2312AP
and is the equivalent of Development Vintage 50 that was deployed to some
S8700 Field Trial systems.
