Use this procedure to administer the Automatic Line Selection (ALS)
sequence for an extension. Automatic Line Selection is used to determine
the order in which the system makes outside lines available to the user.
Note: Your current Automatic Line Selection table is deleted
immediately after you select this feature by either selecting
AutoLineSel from the display or pressing *14. There is no way
to cancel the operation. You must program new selections and then press
**14 to end the operation.
Automatic Line Selection (ALS) sequence must be programmed using
centralized telephone programming for single-line telephones. A maximum of
8 buttons for each extension can be administered for the Automatic Line
Selection sequence.

Factory setting:

To program Automatic Line Selection from the System Programming console
or through System Programming and Maintenance (SPM) using centralized
programming:
- Press Menu.
- Press System Program.
- Press Exit or Start.
- Press More or Right Arrow Key.
- Press Cntrl Program.
- Press Program Extension.
- Dial the extension number you want to administer.
- Press Enter.
- Press any Line or System Access button.
- Press List Feature.
- Press Auto Line Select.
- Press the lines in the order you want the phone to have access to
them. The lights next to the lines will turn green when pressed.
- Press Enter.
- Press System Program.
- Press Exit or Back.
- Press Home or Exit to exit programming mode.
Use the procedure below to program Automatic Line Selection:
On an Analog multiline phone:
- Slide the T/P (Test/Program) switch on the left-hand side of
the telephone down to the P (Programming) position to enter
programming mode.
- Press a System Access button.
- Dial *14.
- Press the lines in the order the phone should have access to them.
The lights next to the lines will turn green when pressed.
- Dial **14.
- Slide the T/P switch back to the center to exit programming
mode.
On a ETR, MLS or MLX phone:
- Press Feature or # and dial 00 to enter
programming mode.
- Press a System Access button.
- Dial *14.
- Press the lines in the order the phone should have access to them.
The lights next to the lines will turn green when pressed.
- Dial **14.
- Press Feature or # and dial *00 to exit
programming mode.
