System Speed Dial lets the system manager program frequently used
numbers that can be dialed from any extension (including data
workstations) using a 3-digit code. The user lifts the handset or press
Speaker then Presses a programmed Speed Dial button, or presses Feature
and dials the 3-digit Speed Dial code.
System Speed Dial is available on all releases.
Telephones: All except Queued Call Console (QCC) operators.
Factory setting: 600 - 729 (cannot be changed).
Programming Code:
Onto a button - *24 + System Speed Dial code
To administer System Speed Dial numbers from the System Programming
console or through System Programming and Maintenance (SPM):
- Press Menu.
- Press System Program.
- Press Exit or Start.
- Press More or Right Arrow Key.
- Press Labels.
- Press Directory.
- Press System.
- Dial the code number (600-729).
- Press Enter.
- Press letters for labeling (A-F are on the display, G-Z are on the
20 line buttons, in order from left to right, top to bottom).
- Press Enter.
- Dial telephone number (include any dial-out code needed, e.g. 9 for
ARS).
- Press Enter.
- Press Yes OR No for display number while dialing
(selecting No makes the number marked allowing restricted
extension to use the speed dial).
- Press Enter.
- Press Exit or Back.
- Press Home or Exit to exit programming mode.
Use the procedure below to program a System Speed dial onto a button:
On an Analog multiline phone:
- Slide the T/P (Test/Program) switch on the left-hand side of
the telephone down to the P (Programming) position to enter
programming mode.
- Press the button you want to program for the specific System Speed
dial and dial *24 + System Speed Dial code.
- Slide the T/P switch back to the center to exit programming
mode.
On an ETR, MLS or MLX phone:
- Press Feature or # and dial 00 to enter
programming mode.
- Press the button you want to program for the specific System Speed
dial and dial *24 + System Speed Dial code.
- Press Feature or # and dial *00 to exit
programming mode.
On an MLX display phone:
- Press Menu to enter programming mode.
- Press Ext Program.
- Press Start and then press the button you want to program. If
a feature is already administered on the button, press Delete to
- remove that feature.
- Press the button again.
- Press List Feature and select the feature to be programmed [SpdDl].
If the desired feature is not a choice, press More or Right
Arrow Key until the feature is displayed.
- Once you have located the feature, press the button next to it and
then press Enter.
- Press Exit or Back.
- Press Home or Exit to exit programming mode.
