Does Caller ID work on my MERLIN MAGIX phones?

Yes, all releases of the MERLIN MAGIX are capable of displaying Caller ID. To use the service, the system must have:

  1. The local telephone companies' Customer Local Access signaling Service
  2. Loop start lines,
  3. A 412 LS-ID-TDL, 408 GS/LS-ID-MLX, or 800 GS/LS-ID Circuit Module
  4. To use the 800 GS/LS module, the Magix Processor must be R1.5 or higher.

For Merlin Magix systems, Calling Party Name is also supported. Calling Party Name does what its name suggests - it provides the name of the calling party. A button can be programmed on the multiline 4400-series, MLX, ETR, and MLS telephones to toggle between Calling Party Number and Calling Party Name.

When the button's LED is lit, Calling Party Name and not Calling Party Number information appears and will continue to appear until you press the button again (the LED turns off).
